Idris Elba and Diene Petterle unveil 22 Summers
Idris Elba has joined forces with former BBC and Pulse Films exec Diene Petterle to create a new production company, 22 Summers.
The duo are developing a slate of ambitious unscripted content with a social purpose. The label’s first project, the four-part Erased: WWII Heroes of Colour, has already TX-ed on Nat Geo and debuts on Disney+ today (10 June). The series is a co-pro with October Films.

Idris Elba and Gina Carter unveil 22 Summers
Gina Carter started her career as a Production Manager in 1991 on Institute Benjamenta directed by The Brothers Quay. She went on to Line Produce House of America, A Mug’s Game, Bent, and Resurrection Man. Gina then joined Revolution Films as Head Of Production where she co-produced several films with Andrew Eaton all directed by Michael Winterbottom. She has produced Heartlands, Bright Young Things and Snow Cake and now runs Sprout Pictures with Stephen Fry.
